The 3D print of me as an AWI General arrived today.
I was scanned at Historicon. Seeing the line and knowing the summer schedule, I thought their 2 month promise was a wee bit optimistic.
No matter. The little feller looks just like me in 28mm.
I'm sure the Pennsylvania Line will be suitably inspired. Or not.

So my advice for the impatient is …. be patient.
I may order another on foot as a statue for the Public Square. ,

Oh yes. Forgot. Minuteman Miniatures.

Cacique Caribe14 Oct 2018 6:10 p.m. PST

Well … don't be a tease. Go give it a wash, take a picture and post a link to that model's photo,

Dan

Huzzah! I'm sure the troops will have some sort of emotional response to your mini me's arrival. They'll probably have a party after you've left the room.

wrgmr114 Oct 2018 6:32 p.m. PST

Yes Winston, photos!

Wackmole914 Oct 2018 6:50 p.m. PST

I want a General Winston for my tabletop too!!!

bandrsntch14 Oct 2018 7:17 p.m. PST

Still waiting for mine, but your post gives me hope it will arrive eventually. It will have been 13 weeks last Thursday since I had the 3D scan of my head.

Zagloba14 Oct 2018 8:00 p.m. PST

Does that include the sedan chair?

Cacique Caribe15 Oct 2018 4:35 a.m. PST

Here he is.

How fun!

Now we'll have to see if having mini-flesh in our games changes our brazen command behaviors.

I think this is GREAT! I don't think I'd do it for myself BUT, what a perfect Christmas present for a good gaming friend.

I could not find it at the site… what does it cost??

Ferd4523115 Oct 2018 7:49 a.m. PST

Cacique,
Just going by the information on the box is THIS Winston or Don Diego?Ah a stout Zorro. And do I really want a figure that can cause infertility or is that something I can dice for? H

Obviously I need to clean away a lot of the "scaffolding" needed to print this. But the face is very accurate.
I hope my painting brings out my natural beauty. grin

The procedure was simple. I sat there, without glasses. (Did you know that Ben Franklin invented contact lenses? No? You can look it up.) Then the lovely technician simply walked around me waving what looked like a magic vacuum cleaner attachment. And voila!
I guess I'm on file.
Or at least my head is. Then the wizzards can attach it to any body, muttering some arcane words from a forgotten language.

Thanks to Dan for uploading the pictures I sent him. I've been looking for a site that will host for free, ever since Photobucket turned blood sucking capitalist swine.

The figure cost me $25 USD which is far more than I would pay for a general guaranteed to roll +4 every time.
But since I obviously won't need dozens of me, and after all it is me, I thought it was worth convention Mad Money. grin

As for it being in their site, I can't find the tanks they have!

Stryderg15 Oct 2018 10:11 a.m. PST

NICE! I rather like the scaffolding, gives the impression that the mini is robust, in a good way. And such a grand pose, to boot.

wrgmr115 Oct 2018 11:06 a.m. PST

Looks really good. Please post photos of the painted version.

Old Contemptibles15 Oct 2018 12:48 p.m. PST

I think Franklin invented the bi-focal lense not contact lenses.

Winston Smith15 Oct 2018 1:46 p.m. PST

It was a humorous jest explaining why my Mini Me wasn't wearing glasses. grin
I wasn't expecting to be believed.

Sigwald15 Oct 2018 3:30 p.m. PST

Ha that's really cool! I also look forward to seeing him painted up!

23rdFusilier15 Oct 2018 3:50 p.m. PST

I think it is really wicked pissah looking. Wish I had got one while at cold wars. Perhaps next year.

"I've been looking for a site that will host for free, ever since Photobucket turned (…)"

I think you can upload photos to a page in Blogspot (if you keep the file size(s) below certain limits.) I haven't tried it myself yet, though…

My son and I got ours yesterday as well. We, too, were at Historicon.

Mollinary17 Oct 2018 1:00 p.m. PST

I think it would look great in a town square with all the scaffolding intact, and painted as wood – a work in progress!

It's a wonderful you OFM…
