Our local group recently played some historical sailing ship games for the first time (we have been gaming together 5 years). Some of the members are fantasy oriented and wanted to do a fantasy naval game, like car wars, where players make up their own ships pure fantasy or quasi-historical. These would be age of sail and gun powder era.

Anyone know of such a thing? Thanks

I do know of Man o War. is that still around?

Ganesha Games has Galleons and Galleys with the Fayre Winds and Foul Tides expansion covering fantasy ships. link

I have a ton of Uncharted Seas minis – they are now out of print, but the rules for that occasionally surface, or can be found in the dusty recesses of some shops. Warcradle Studios picked up the IP from Spartan games, but a repring is at least 2 years away from what I understand.

Sea Law for Rolemaster, but watch out for fire siphon crews using the weapon to cook lunch.

Regarding Man O War there is an active former Yahoo Groups bunch called Sea of Claws that is still going after many years--since 2000 I think. Googling Sea of Claws ought to bring it up…

Bob, if you're interested, I have a large box full of Uncharted Seas minis that are almost entirely new-in-blister. Even if you use someone else's rules, the minis might be of use to you.

Well Games Workshop killed it off two decades ago.

But there are still individuals who probably play.

Thanks to all for such great suggestions.

Javelin 9 8, I am not familiar with these ships; they might be useful. Can you point me to a link that has pictures of them. Thanks
