Dien Bien Phu was made – and under that name – by Pierre Shoendoeffer who was actually present during the battle.

The Only War We've Got…if only for the marvellous comic potential of the 'combat' scene in the big PX at Cholon.

Good topic …so many

#1 The Battle Of Long Tan
#2 Tet Offensive
#3 The Assault on the US Embassy (During Tet?)
#4 Battle of Hue
#5 Battle of Khe Sanh

These are all pretty weak. I think something like the battle of Nam Dong or even a SOG mission in Laos would be way more interesting and revealing, as well as heart stopping. Hue could be good if done right. Really wasn't too much ground fighting at Khe Sahn other than at Lang Vei and the 881 hills. The most ground fighting took place during Op Pegasus when the Army fought it's way to relieve KS.
When you just focus on the big battles you lose the perspective of the actual war.

1. Thud Ridge
2, The Laotian Fragments
3. Cheating Death – Air Rescue in Vietnam
4. Lima Site 85
5. The Bob Hope Show of Cu Chi

I'd like to see:
1. "Once A Warrior King"
2. A movie about SOG missions across the fence
3. "The Village War"
4. A real account of life in an A-camp and dealing with ARVN and LLDB, or maybe one about Dong Xoi
5. Battle on An Loc in '72.

Long Tan has now been covered. I enjoyed Danger Close.
