D VII's should have swept sky especially if they were 5's not 5a's

Sorry, my bad, they were SE5a's.
I think in 1918 Germany had a lot of inexperienced pilots, and it is pilot quality that seems to have been the deciding factor in many, if not most, dogfights.
The Fokker DVII is a great plane, but it cannot make a poor pilot good!- it would have been better if it had come into service rather earlier, methinks!
