Currently I am fleshing out my Austrians, Prussians, French, Hessian, and Hanoverians using FreiKorps which are good but was wondering what other options there are out there. I am expressing a clear and strong preference for distributors in the US primarily because I hate converting dollars to pounds or euros and visa versa.
Any suggestions.

Hopefully this one will get posted to the right message thread!

15mm?

I always found FreiKorps a bit on the small size compared with my preferred ranges (Lancashire/Old Glory/Essex (Cavalry) ) – if you are doing 15mm.
This makes me wonder if you will have a compatibility problem?

Old Glory 15s link have a big range of figures. Although I don't have any of their 15mm SYW figures I do have many from their ACW line and am highly satisfied with them.

Herkybird, no I think my wife re quite compatible, been married for nearly 43 years thank you. Don't see what that has to do with wargame figures.
But back to the subject at hand. I currently have some Mini-fig French and they are noticeably smaller than both the old style and the newer style Freikorps so I am looking to find some that blend in a little better. and with a comparable price. I had some old Essex in my 1690s Poles and liked them but which of those noted are available in the US? I will look at the Old Glory and Lancashire links though. Most of my figures currently are Freikorps of the "newer" style the bulk of my collection was "liquidated" when my wife retired and we moved south, I was left with only my 7 Years War collection, incomplete though it was.

A warning to us all. However much you may enjoy huge tabletop extravaganzas, you always want to own (a) something portable, and (b) something with darn near no resale value you can retain in event of financial disaster.

Individually mounted 1/72 plastic is my best solution so far.

To Robert piepenbrink GOOD GOD!! I've found someone even more cynical and snarky than me, and that ain't easy!!! A true pleasure sir! (Removes hat and bows deeply)

To the good ColCampbell, how does Old Glory compare, size wise, to Mini-Fig or Freikorps? They look interesting, maybe you can answer a question for me. Their site says $20.00 USD for 16 cavalry and then they make some comment about command. Do they mean 16 plus command, or 16 including command? Price wise they seem a wee bit more expensive than Freikorps but a good deal less expensive than Mini-Fig, and the only Mini-Fig distributor I've found is in England and once again its the conversion bug-a-boo.

@von Schwartz.
The OG SYW infantry are significantly bigger than Minifigs. I use them with my Eureka figures, which are really "18mm". The OG cavalry horses are rather small, but may be OK alongside FreiKorps.

Thank you steamingdave47, I think I will try out a package of Austrian artillery and see what they look like for myself. After a little more research I found that prices are virtually identical, and no currency conversion required, WhooHoo!!
By the way, are Eureka figures available here in the colonies?

Sorry, I think you may have translated this wrong!, compatibility in this usage is not just about relationships, but a comparison in the variation in the sizes of figures produced by different manufacturers.

Musketier08 Oct 2018 12:09 p.m. PST

Confirm the OG cavalry packs of 16 include command. You get 2 officers, 2 standard bearers, 2 musicians and 10 troopers. I think that for most references the command figures will be two different sets.

Herkybird, I knew exactly what you meant, I was just having a little fun intentionally misinterpreting your words. It's my rather quirky and twisted sense of humor at work.
