What do people recommend for info on early war WW1 west and or east front? Interested in more specifically on tactics.
Thanks

What level of tactics are you most interested in? Squad/section; platoon; company; battalion; regiment or other?

Battalion and or regiment

Let me see which of the battalion commander memoirs are available for free. By 'regiment', you mean the British concept of a battalion? The French and Germans used regiment to denote a unit comprising multiple battalions. I have a number of links to online histories too, so will dig these out for you as well.

Either one works. Thanks for your help

This page contains two accounts from German regimental histories related to the first weeks of the war:
