If you like Ancients, but are so booked up you'll never have the time and resources to participate, and especially if you like historical battles vice tournament play, FOG2, a direct port of the miniatures rules to the computer, is for you. Here is their latest DLC, the Rise of Persia.

I'm right in the middle of a Nebuchadnezzar II campaign from that DLC. I never really liked FoG as a tabletop set of rules, but I must say that FoG 2 is absolutely one of my favourite computer games. The game has changed a lot from the printed version, but all for the better.

The game itself, and the first three DLC are all deeply discounted right now on GOG.

Two thumbs up from me!

Playing the Ashurbanipal campaign; boy do the Assyrians need a big iron umbrella for the huge arrow storm!
The only recourse is to send in those Footguards and hope they break first.
