For those who've played the Pz8 Division rules I have a question on Rally/Supply.

It reads..

Roll one D6 for each unit within 12" from its Divisional HQ, if result = 5,6 remove 1 FP or add 1 turn of fire if artillery.

It doesn't specify between units in or out of combat. So as long as a unit meets the requirements above it could be resupplied. How practical is that? To supply men & materials to a battalion presently fighting the enemy?

A unit in combat consumes its supplies, ammunition etc. If you don't replenish what has been expended your unit will not last for very long because it will be unable to maintain the fight. Unless the geography or battlefield situation is very unusual resupply is practical, if not essential. Just because a battalion is in combat it does not mean that every member of it is in hand to hand combat with the enemy.
