Which paint brand and shade conveys that pinky-red color the best?

MiniPigs…Have you looked at Reaper's Core Color Range? If the uniform plates in Helion's book on Murat's Army reflect true color, then I think you may find what you are looking for.

The old Humbrol paints had a tin of "Polish Crimson." I believe the Murat colour was a bit lighter in shade.

I see Vallejo has an "Amaranth"

Humbrol is enamel, is it not? And unavailable to boot.

Try Vallejo's Magenta, (with a small touch of Light blue, if u think its too bright).
