Neat ! The KM did at times fight as a ground force. E.g. Norway in 1940 after the UK sunk @ 10 of their Destroyers.

whitejamest01 Oct 2018 4:09 p.m. PST

Very nice, but should that machine gun be feeding from the other side?

redmist112201 Oct 2018 4:53 p.m. PST

Pretty awesome looking!

Something of a schoolboy error. I don't think it's reversed picture, either

Oops ! huh?

deephorse02 Oct 2018 6:52 a.m. PST

Which ones were they? The British GPMG that I fired fed from the left. Never fired them but images show the M60, .30 and .50 cals feeding from the left. Unless those images were reversed of course.

Yes AFAIK all the Maxim derived MG's fed from the right, which included the MG08 and the Vickers.

Looking at the pic I am wondering if the ammo belt is a seperate casting. If so you could glue it on the other side which would work ok.

Steve Wilcox02 Oct 2018 2:58 p.m. PST

Interestingly, the regular German line of figures they have, has the correct direction of feed for Germans 8: Greatcoated MG-08 team:

I'm thinking it is a separate casting …

My reply was to a post which was subsequently changed, thereby altering the apparent meaning of what I wrote.

Yes, I changed that post after I did some research … As my comment was inaccurate. As I said my memory ain't what it used to be. old fart

And with things like loading/reloading weapons, etc., those became a reaction vs. actually having to think about it. old fart I'm sorry if there was any confusion, etc. …

I had a Homer Simpson "DOH" moment !!!! huh?
