Always good to see the "Big Boots" riding!

Very nice! That's my favorite uniform.

Great bases.

I would worry about the hairy upper lips.

Even more about the aurore lace/aigulettes appearing so green.

I do accept it may be the photography and white balance.

I would also agree about the very best uniform of the entire era……maybe Saxon Garde du Corps, maybe Polish Lancers of the Garde, maybe 71st HLI…..but these are fine figures. Just not in TOTS (The One True Scale).

Seriously, 20 minutes work would transform these. Anything green, repaint in any light orange (my favourite is German Orange in Vallejo) and they would not just be more accurate….they would look far far better.

That luminous green is horrible, however well painted on (and it is). Trust me…I mean well.

Like this, as how they looked (OK I did not remove the tache);

The curse of yellows – I have a Vallejo yellow that looks decidedly green over a blue base.

But sans 'taches – I never knew that. I am so used to seeing the OG as grizzled veterans I never considered whether the GaC should have tache or not.

Of course. That explains the green colour. It is yellow over the dark blue.

Taches never for Grenadiers a Cheval, Dragoons or Gendarmes of the Garde. Some suggestion that for line units much depended on the time of year!
