Willys is a family and company name, just like Ford, who also manufactured jeeps. I can just imagine an officer ordering his driver to "bring up my Willy." |

Yep, it's not a Jeep Willys, it's a Willys Jeep. Willys actually continued to make passenger cars for a few years after WW2. I remember seeing some when I was a kid. Of course, now days Jeep is a brand name (owned by Fiat-Chrysler) and Willys is long gone. The Jeep name was passed from one company to another; I forget who Chrysler got it from, several years ago. |

American Motors (AMC) owned the Jeep trademark before 1987. From whenever Kaiser-Willys gave it up. |
