I have been exploring the use of taller flight stands and pegs for jets and helicopters in Team Yankee and Fate of a Nation. The ones suplied recreate flight elevations which seem too low. I know there is no perfect height for this but I would appreciate the visual effect of aircraft being a little taller. Litko's tallest is 6 inches. I have called Litko and left message to see if they can customize taller ones. No return call. Anyone have other recommendations? Anyone advise against using taller stands? Thanks. |

What is the scale of the aircraft models that you are using and what height do you desire? Armaments In Miniature has flight stands and can do some customizing. |

A taller stand is going to need either a larger or heavier base for stability. Take that into account. |

Or a smaller aircraft model |

There's also the 'forest of trees' effect. You get lots of planes with really tall stands and one falls over and it knocks all the rest over. Try it – it's great fun! |

I prefer the Tall Flight Stand stem that comes with BF's fixed-wing aircraft, but I'm not sure that they offer it because if you click on where it says "Check out the Tall Flight Stand Stem in the online store" (scroll down on the page at the link below, it's right below the A-1 Skyraider) it leads to a blank page. WTH, BF? link |
