OK – maybe this thread isn't entirely pointless. Before it fades into memory, because 'Death in the Dark Continent' is relatively current in its glossy, professional edition from North Star, it might be worth mentioning that the Foundry and Copplestone Azande figures can also serve as other Congo tribes, their costume being fairly typical of tribes throughout the region, so for instance, musketeers can be used as the Bangala auxiliaries of the Force Publique if you paint their hats white (H.M. Stanley describes them as costumed thus, but doesn't specify the type of hat. No matter: the hats depicted on the figures are the most likely style).

You can create different tribes by varying the shields; e.g Tetela would have the 'door' style, and going a step further, by combining an Azande spearman with 'door' shield and an archer (the type with braided hair) on the same base you can represent the double-armed Mangbetu (a second shield should be placed next to the archer).
