Most people actually talk like Robert Newton as Long John Silver. He was the only pirate that talked like that. Most of the pirates just spoke like the extras they were.

Playing pirates tonight. (Quick plug). The play test version of "pieces of Eight" by Peter Pig. Previous version 25+ years old.
The club chaps really enjoyed Black Sails.
