The bikinis are gone, and so are the viewers, apparently. Seems the Miss American Pageant may be dead, and they just don't know it yet. "The rest of last night saw ABC's revamped 2019 Miss America Competition (0.7/3) hit a rating low with a crash of 42% from last year on the Disney-owned net". Not that I watched it regularly, when they still had them. Looks like we have another answer to the age olde question, "what could possibly go wrong…..?" when they mess with tradition. |

OMG. You almost gave me a heart attack when you said "bikinis are gone", which I initially took to mean totally gone from our culture/civilization. Because that would truly be a dark day for all mankind! No, I never wasted my time on those pageants, except when a girl I was interested in wanted to come over to watch it. Dan |

Oh well … the entire concept of those type of pageants IMO has long passed. I have not watched one forever. Besides today with the net, etc., there are plenty of places to see photos, etc., of beautiful Gals in bikinis, etc. Or so I'm told …  |

Didn't one of those pageants used to have some restriction against contestants with cosmetic surgery? If so, then maybe the change might finally explain to me why I never liked the contests. :) Dan |

Coopman: "No contestants who have had cosmetic surgery? That would have eliminated them all." Indeed. I hear that was the case at one time. These days they should just merge the beauty pageants with the cosmetic surgery conventions. They could then call it the Miss ____ Cosmetic Beauty Pageant. :) They could come out wearing dresses and other outfits with the names of their plastic surgeons stitched (pardon the pun) on them.
