Hello all! Any one know if the new Middle Earth rulebook has profiles? Specifically for Mordor and Gondor? Like if all I am interested in is narrative or open play and not points do I still need to buy the second book Of Army lists or can I just get by with the new rule book? I am tempted by the new rules but less tempted if I need to spend $120 USD just to play it ($60 a book). Any info is appreciated. -Stewart |

I have both new books—the Rules Manual is nothing but the rules and scenarios and lots of eye candy. The Armies of Middle Earth book has all of the profiles from SBG, and there is supposed to be an Armies of the Hobbit book for profiles from The Hobbit lines. |

There are actually some profiles of major characters and troops in the examples. I haven't looked at all of them but there appear to be a lot of them. From what I've seen they have the same stats that I remember, so I bet you could happily play the game using the new rules and the stats you already have. For the army book, $60 USD sounds steep but it's cheaper than what they use to do with several books running $30 USDish each. Now they have everything in one book and you can find it at a nearly 20% discount on-line. I've seen them on Ebay for $51 USD with free shipping… auction I think it's actually a good deal getting everything in one place instead of having to buy a ton of books just to get everything. |

Not sure why the hobbit was not included in the one book. There goes the less book theory. Do the new lists have all the alt warriors from White dwarf? What are the main changes/ updates in rules and stats? |
