18 days until HMGS South's Hurricon 18 in Orlando FL.

Lots of great games lining up. There will be multiple sessions of Richard Borg's Red Alert game that just had a successful Kickstarter recently. Games will feature the play test fleets used to polish the rules.

The games I am running are set in the TSR Star Frontiers universe fighting the Second Sathar War. Fluff post #2 follows:
—————————-
Federation Year 81. 7 standard days since detection of Sathar Fleet activity.

Xeno Intelligence, 3rd Division has confirmed that numerous Sathar warships are marshalling near their historical Jump assembly areas.
Three out of the Five known Sathar jump locations are currently active: Xagyg Nebula, White Light Nebula & the Yreva Nebula.

The Xagyg Nebula Fleet and Yreva Nebula Fleets have about equal composition of ships types ranging from long-range fighter squadrons, Destroyers, and Cruisers while the White Light Nebula concentration is currently 50% of what each of the other assembly areas currently comprise.

Capital Ships, specifically their Flagships and Carriers, have not been observed. The Xagyg Fleet has recently seen the arrival of two Dreadnaughts along with escorts.

Imagery of Sathar Attack Vessels in the Dreadnaught class along with Strike Ship class escort squadrons.

XI-3 believes this is a key indicator of the Sathar intent and are directing further reconnaissance to determine other Capital ship locations and numbers.

Assessment: Although there is not enough information to discern initial attack targets we believe that the Prenglar, Fromeltar and White Light star systems are the most threatened. Given the density of Federation assets and civilian population centers these Star Systems are high payoff targets for the Sathar. Success here will enable further expansion into the Federation.

Throw in the fact that Richard is a member of South and in attendance at our shows and how can you miss!

I can't wait to see this one!

Looks neat.

Reminds me of some of the Stardate 3000 line of ships, from the 1970s.

I have had the pleasure of play testing Red Alert several times. The last time I got up the nerve to command one fleet. I told Richard that of all his games this one is my favorite. As a trekkie it is fascinating. It plays well, the cards make it exciting, and its a lot of fun. If you go to Hurricon try one of the Red Alert games. I think you'll enoy it.
