"Photograph of mysterious 'angular aircraft' hovering over North Carolina freeway sends UFO enthusiasts wild with speculation it could be a top-secret US government plane Another alleged UFO sighting near Charlotte has appeared on Facebook and in this case, it was posted by a husband and father who says he doesn't necessarily believe in UFOs. Javion Hill, 35, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, says he took several photos of the object during a storm on the night of Aug. 18, as he drove on U.S. 74 southwest of Charlotte.
The images feature something square hovering above the treeline, with its edges fringed in lights. Hill told the Charlotte Observer the craft frightened him to the point that he didn't sleep that night…." link

No doubt, someone's home-made, aerial drone, I suspect. From the section on the far left, looks like it is perhaps made out of pvc pipe, and has lighting installed at strategic points around the rectangular structure. |

I know that I'd be very tempted to build such a drone just to mess with X-Files types… |

I know that I'd be very tempted to build such a drone just to mess with X-Files types… It will only be funny until the moment the alien oil enters through your eyeballs. |

Looks like a reflection of his mobile phone sitting on the dashboard of his car. |

If Aliens were around I cant see why they operate as they seem to in our fevered imaginations. Lets see! We come mostly at night but turn on lots of lights so our ships can be seen. OK, We come once in a while in daylight for some reason unknown to humans but still try to be sneaky. Of course we don't have the technology for daylight stealth but using such would violate the lightem up at night philosophy. To use one of my favorite words "Bull***t. |

Noggin – My thoughts exactly! |

Noggin: the problem is that the picture was taken with a cellphone. So it can't be the driver's cell on the dashboard reflecting off the windshield. The driver was alone in the car. Also, if it was a cellphone's reflection, it would be down low on the windshield, not up high. |

I'll still go with reflection on windshield, having briefly fallen for that one myself, long ago. At the least, I'd want a look at his dashboard and stray electronics. If you don't have at least one of the three, you just can't estimate size, distance and speed. That's what made a lot of pre-CGI special effects possible. Imagery analysts used to tell me that lots of things look good in one picture. |

Robert: "Imagery analysts used to tell me that lots of things look good in one picture." And people, or so I hear. :) Dan |
