…. humanity after the apocalypse. "Will our great-great-great-grandkids survive a meteor collision like the one that killed the dinosaurs, or perish while a new species takes over? Could a few survivors eventually repopulate the Earth, perhaps evolving new bodily features that would be required to thrive in a post-apocalyptic world? Or will we leave our home behind and venture into space, hoping that another planet can sustain human life? To find out the answers to all these questions, we spoke to Professor Mark Pagel, a leading evolutionary biologist and author of Wired For Culture, a book about the unique traits humans have evolved. Read on to find out whether robots will take over the world, what we could learn from alligators and why burrowing underground like a clan of mutant mole people might be our best chance of survival…" Main page link Amicalement Armand |

Instead of speculating about what will happen after a meteor strike*, they should make themselves useful and be looking for objects that could be headed our way. It's the question all these prophets of doom dread most … "And so what are YOU doing about it?" I'm still waiting for researchers to finally put their money where their mouth is and go out and do their job using ships that are completely solar- or wind-powered. Or watch them save on heating costs as they do their usual doomsday research in polar regions. :) Dan * Or looking for exotic planets light years away, planets that humans will never get to colonize. Lol. |

they The chap who wrote this is neither an astronomer, an astronaut nor Bruce Willis. As an evolutionary biologist, he is doing what he's trained to do. I'm really not sure about what practical action you're demanding. |
