Hello all, i have been experimenting with various terrain techniques to make this settlement. The main idea was to make roads blend seemlessly in to 16" square patches. There are four patches laid out to produce a linear type settlement. Remove the telegraph/electric poles and it could be either. Note: I am not suggestion the OP actually do that.

Always a personal preference of course but rather like the road color. Looks like wet mud to me.
