In a TV show, the theme doesn't have to be bad, just doesn't match what the show is about.

I nominate NCIS, generic synthesizer music, doesn't fit a show about an old school Marine sniper leading a team of navy cops.

I've been thinking about strange pairings of movie music with movies lately. You beat me to it.

1. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, with Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head

2. Con Air, with How Do I Live Without You

I always thought "Ladyhawk" was a particularly bad match of story and music.

I had forgotten how weird the electric guitar opening to the Sharpe's series sounded. That is, until my 13yo pointed it out during his first viewing…

Sharpe's electric guitar does match the modern characters in the olde setting.

The theme to Star Trek Enterprise always seemed to jar, for me at least

Queen in Flash Gordon is fantastic.
Queen in Highlander, not so much.

Twilight Samurai06 Sep 2018 9:26 p.m. PST

Hey, the problems not with Queen!
I thought the music went very well with the movie, at least I thought so in the eighties.

We always watched the opening credits of Star Trek Enterprise because the theme and the visuals worked so well together.

We then skipped the rest of the show….
