How could you represent hidden movement in regimental Fire and Fury. Could you use the Lardie idea of Blind and dummy markers ? Or any other suggestions.

Usually track on maps – but have used markers before

If 12" is 300 yards, then a 5 foot deep table is 1500 yards or less than a mile. The only things that would be 'hidden' would be a unit in a woods or behind an obstacle/hills, towns and woods.

That makes for a fairly limited and specific kind of hidden movement.

Dummy markers or a map. I think a map works better if you have a ref/umpire.

I've always used a variation of the hidden movement rules in Johnny Reb 2.

Blind and dummy

We have done both a map and blind/dummy markers. The map works best if you trust the players to be honest.

Yes- I play that way every time I run a FnF game or other game rules/system.
a) Best to have GM
b) Have visibility guidelines set for the players for hidden status, detected status and revealed status.
c) Set WHo can use bluffs and qty
d) Add random detection ( 3 to 4 d6), if rolling terrain with many folds.

The 3 levels:
Hidden- not on the board and on a map ( typically a picture of the playing board)
Detected- blind or block- bluffs version also present where plausible. "Inf troops are detected and can be seen in this location but numbers and type are not discernable"
Revealed- blind or block is removed, bluffs are determined to be some "stragglers or scouts or skirmishers" by the GM. Figures of the revealed formation are placed on the table.

Key is to use a large tray or troop box so the foot print of the formation is set and the formation ( regiment /brigade /Division) and relative position of the units of the formation can be maintained & taken care of by the owning player ( during prior turns when ordered to change/redeploy) until he/she has to place the figures onto the board (and in the same formation and relative position as in the box/tray).

I will be running some games with this at Fall-In, if you are in the states and go to the HGMS CONs
