In the both the scale and price. Basic Box Set will cost you over $300 USD and a single Warlord Titan over $110. USD
As for the Size the new Warlord Titans are more than twice the size of the old EPIC Warload Titans.
So GW has made sure that you cannot use your old EPIC miniatures with their new miniatures. Sure that box set is a bit cheaper than buying things individually but these prices are totally ridiculous. So…
Though I was right about what the new Titans would cost. |

I like the models but the cost is prohibitive. I'll pass. |

The Models are sweet and the game isn't half bad. You can play old epic with this just not the titans. The Buildings are also nice. |

We just bought the rules box with markers and command terminal cards and stuff. We're using my Epic Titans from years ago. It works great, the rules are very smooth and give a great feel to the actions. Could probably use other models as Titans. Battletech Mechs would work, even 40K Dreadnoughts bought cheap on ebay. Agree that the new Titans look too pricy for us, superb models though they appear to be. The rules are worth it though. |

I was just wondering when you're going to pop up with your anti-GW rants again, Mithmee. Welcome back. |

The way I see it the old titans are older models. Will be using both |

I like the models. In retrospect, however, I should have convinced my buddy to just use 40K Imperial Knights, Contemptor and other dreadnoughts, and Centurions instead…. Bring the scale and buy-in cost down as we already own several of these models… |

28mm Titans now that would be expensive. Its not for me price wise, I simply cannot afford to partake in GW's hobby. But whatever, its up to those who are really interested if the prices are to high for them or not. |

I have 6 Warlords and will be picking up 6 Reavers and 4 Warhound boxes (supposedly 2 to a box) as well, got the Warlords for roughly $65 USD a piece. I can use them just fine with my old Epic stuff (they scale better) and will be having a grand 'ole time. The actual Titanicus game looks to be rather awesome to boot. It's either worth it to you or it isn't. Edit: Oh yeah, there are some videos on Youtube on how to magnatize the kits so that the weapons can be interchanged, might as well get the most for your money if you're gonna put down the cash. |

That price-point is really unfortunate. My gaming group wanted to get into Titanicus, but we can't justify that much cash outlay, especially when it's that much per person! Had it been $300 USD or so for the group, no problem. |

They are trying their level best to fudge the Blood Bowl figures scale, too. Mean to say, I guess they figured they were too cheap to make the BB teams with all unique sculpts(like all the other companies seem to manage these days), so what do they do? They make them 32mm(and they are a bit bigger then 32mm in many cases, on top of that). GW gonna GW, right? |

The problem is that many of their competitors have gotten to 33mm. People buy miniatures they like and 33mm allows for more detail and fancier designs. I suspect it also is a little easier to do in resin. But yeah, scale creep sucks. The thing I don't get about the new Adeptus Titanicus is that the whole point of doing a smaller scale is more stuff on the table and the bigger models, while nice, don't really supply that objective. |

I was just wondering when you're going to pop up with your anti-GW rants again, Mithmee. What Rant? This game is only for those who can afford it. To field a decent size force 4-5 Titans per side you are going to have to spend around $600 USD – $700. USD Those new Titans are not worth $120 USD+ each. Sure you might be able to use your old EPIC Models with the rules. Thing is I only mostly Eldar Titans or Ork Mega Gargents, only have a one Reaver Titan. They made their new models so that they can screw over all of their customers who have a ton of EPIC stuff. That is the GW way. |

The thing I don't get about the new Adeptus Titanicus is that the whole point of doing a smaller scale is more stuff on the table and the bigger models, while nice, don't really supply that objective. Not meant to do that. They are larger for two reasons only… First is to ensure that you cannot use your old models with the new models. Second is to get as much money out of their loyal followers (I.E. Fanboyz) wallets. |
Capt Flash | 03 Sep 2018 3:28 a.m. PST |
@Mithmee I'd have to add, though, that the old diehard players have available to them true scale aftermarket Titans and vehicles. If anyone wanted to return to Epic, they only need to turn to the Tac Com forums. There are also a lot of alternative miniatures suppliers keeping the game alive. I agree that it's too bad that GW goes out if their way to change the scales of their minis. I don't doubt one bit that it's to secure their piece of the pie. I think you're right about your past comments regarding the Primaris Marines that GW is moving towards eventually eliminating the 28mm models in order to shut out their aftermarket competitors. |

See, this is why I do American Revolution. Ain't no way that a company can come out with new models that make my Hinchliffe Tarleton's British Legion obsolete. Heck. I painted mine back in the 80s, and they're still going strong! They were even "large 25mm" back then, and play nice with Perry 28mm. |

Would the new knight models be the right size for an older titan? |
