Julian, What color do you use for your sails? |
ModelJShip | 03 Sep 2018 12:09 a.m. PST |
I use the Bonewhite as a base (GameColor 72.034) For the ink washes I use Agrax Earthshade (Citadel) I make the lights with the Bonewhite + white. Finally I use an ocher, Tau Light Ocher (Citadel) + some of Charred Brown (Game color 72.045). I dilute it with water and a little alcohol and apply a wash for the entire sail. This step I do when I have the ship finish, including the rigging. |

OK, thank you. I'm getting tired of mixing custom colors for sails every time I build a ship, and this will be a good basis to start from. |

You can always use that color like a base and then do washing with other colors (gray, brown, reddish brown, ocher) to give different shades to the sails. ; ) |

I've never been good with washes, but I do have some sails and masts that I will be using for wreckage markers. I can test on those. |
