I'm working through all the Russian units at Leipzig, trying to get the flags right. Warflag's input is sort of difficult to parse. I'm looking at this page, for example, on their Empire of Russian section: link Does anyone know how to read this webpage? Does it mean that in some cases, the "White" flag doesn't have any actual white on the flag? Thanks! |

Thanks Sho Boki! I now see where I was confused. I need to see if I need to re-do anything… I *just* got done flagging 72 battalions from the Southern sector…. |

link has the white flag. The Nap flags pages are only the colored flags with the location of the flags on the page corresponding to the names above them. PDF link has colored and white flags together. According to Osprey Men-At-Arms 78 Flags of the Napoleonic Wars #2 Russian Regiments had six flags – one white and five colored with the first battalion carrying the white flag. I am not positive, but the reference to the white flag being on the left on the web page may be the positioning of the flags next to each other. The "White" flags did have colors depending on year of issue and regiment. tmg110.tripod.com/ruia.htm to another site with Russian Flags |

Prince of Essling, Thanks so much for that Russian Naval flag link! That is very useful, and makes it clear that their flag system is nowhere near as simple as "just the St. Andrew's cross" that we so often see for Napoleonic era. |
