A little research can be a dangerous thing….
I've read that small companies of halbardiers were raised by decree in 1647 as part of the army of the Covenant in Scotland.

Did they ever see battle as a coherent force? It does seem unlikely….

Hi ochoin, if I remember they were very small numbers within each regiment, so for wargames purposes a figure or two per unit for larger games, but could be represented independently for a skirmish game.

I was fantasizing there about a small (4 base BG) to combat those pesky Royalist Highlanders & their charge.
