That would have been hell on infantry targets.

Are these real or "what if" models? They look like prototypes.

The configuration they are showing does not make sense for an AA platform. It would be hard to use a stereoscopic rangefinder from the hatch. An enclosed turret will quickly fill up with gas from spent rounds. I don't see an optical tracking sight either.

The MG/151 20mm cannons on the Wirblewind were loaded with 20 round box magazines fed from the side. It looks like that would be pretty hard to do in an enclosed turret.

These are probably mock ups with little or no chance of ever reaching actual production. Keep German designers busy and away from the Eastern front. (And now model company designers.)

Indeed, those turrets are wood.

They probably couldn't down a Swordfish.

Mobius,
Neither could the Bismarck.

And GHQ makes the "FlakPanther" in 6mm. But yes, I don't think it got beyond the prototype … ghqmodels.com/store/g86.html

I have one in 12mm. Was a company, darn if I can remember the name, that did items to convert 12mm. In this case a complete Coelian turret that went with CanDo Panther tanks. Just leave off the regular Panther turret and substitute their item.

I have the Dragon pre-painted models of both. Very nice they are too.
