I've been thinking about this for sometime and I wanted to ask this question: There's a lot of Bismarck boardgames that have been made over the years but can anyone tell me how many of them has Bismarck on the cover? |

Have you tried looking at boardgamegeek? A quick look suggests "All of them". |

I might not have praised it right. What I meant to say is how many Bismarck games has the Battleship Bismarck on the cover? |

Offhand I can't think of any that don't |

As was said by "advocate" look on boardgamegeek. In the search box type in Bismarck and hit search. A list of Bismarck games will be displayed. Each game will have a picture of the box cover. I do agree with David however. I cant think of any that did not have a picture/artwork of the Bismarck on the box. |

It took me awhile to find all the Bismarck games and by company they are: Avalon Hill-2 Avalanche Press-3 TS-1 3M-1 Of these 7 games only 4 did which are: Avalon Hill the first game from the 60's but it was a crude artwork of Bismarck. Avalanche Press-their first game which had 3 pictures 1 showing Graf Spee, one showing an artwork image of Prinz Eugen and the third one showing Bismarck as taken from Prinz Eugen. TS-Artwork showing Bismarck. 3M-Artwork showing Bismarck. The other Avalon Hill game from the 70's shows Arkwork of Prinz Eugen, and the other 2 Avalanche Press games shows the British Battlecruiser Hood(one's an artwork after the Hood blew up with Prince of Wales sailing by and the other one a newer version of the game showing artwork of the Hood. I find it interesting/surprising that you couldn't tell that of the 7 Boardgames(that I know of)only 4 of them had Bismarck on the cover. |

What can I say: they all had big grey boats. That was enough for me. Not sure I found all seven. But at least credit us with pointing you in the right direction (aka "Google is your friend"). |

Question for you…Why did you need to know how many Bismark games had the ship on the cover? (Is this a; Cash Cab? Jeopardy? question you needed the answer for?) :) |
Captain Gideon | 20 Aug 2018 4:44 p.m. PST |
Well let's see it's a game about the Bismarck why shouldn't the Bismarck be on the cover? |

This reminds me of those commercials where someone asks their neighbor for a recommendation on some type of service and then demands the neighbor to do all the work on getting quotes for service. |
Captain Gideon | 20 Aug 2018 6:05 p.m. PST |
Dynaman8789 don't I have the right to ask a question? I didn't know some of this stuff before I asked the question and now I know more than I did,so what's your problem? |
Dynaman8789 | 21 Aug 2018 3:53 a.m. PST |
What's YOUR problem with the snippy responses to your question? Exhibit A > I find it interesting/surprising that you couldn't tell that of the 7 Boardgames(that I know of)only 4 of them had Bismarck on the cover. |
Captain Gideon | 21 Aug 2018 7:27 a.m. PST |
Dynaman8789 I don't see anything wrong in what I said I was just making a statement, and I don't think it was snippy as you say. So I ask you have you seen images of all the Bismarck game covers, and if so can you tell if Bismarck is on them or not? |
advocate | 22 Aug 2018 5:39 a.m. PST |
Yes, I considered your reply snippy. You asked a question, got some help, and answered it yourself. Snippily. Your clarification post did not make things any clearer. Only now do I understand that it was not a request for help (which I did) but an enquiry as to our ability to a) search for the covers of games and b) identify the ships pictured. Had I realised that, I wouldn't have taken part, knowing my (apparently surprising and/or interesting) limitations. |
Captain Gideon | 22 Aug 2018 7:49 a.m. PST |
advocate at the time I asked the question I didn't know everything about it,ONLY after I asked the question with the help of others did I get the rest of the information. As for your second part of what you said that's simply dead wrong, but why try to explain myself when you've already made your mind up and already judged me which I think is not right. |
advocate | 22 Aug 2018 8:13 a.m. PST |
Now I really am genuinely confused. Whatever, I tried. |
Captain Gideon | 23 Aug 2018 10:44 a.m. PST |
advocate are you saying that I had an ulterior motive in writing this topic? Because if you do then you are DEAD WRONG. |

Sounds like a round of Quizzlesticks to me link |
Captain Gideon | 25 Aug 2018 5:31 p.m. PST |
So what's your point The Young Guard? |
advocate | 26 Aug 2018 3:10 a.m. PST |
I have no idea what your motives are, I never questioned them. Asking "quiz" type questions does happen on TMP, there's nothing wrong with that. But I didn't think that this was implied by your first post. Later, you wrote:
I find it interesting/surprising that you couldn't tell that of the 7 Boardgames(that I know of)only 4 of them had Bismarck on the cover This seemed to imply that it was a quiz. Had you omitted the phrase "that you couldn't tell" I would been as surprised as you, and acknowledged your better knowledge of battleship identification (as I did anyway, albeit in a somewhat snarky way). As it was, it came across as "You can't tell one ship from another". at the time I asked the question I didn't know everything about it And this is what confused me, because in the earlier post you seemed to be judging a competition. And those who took part in it. My deepest apologies if I have offended you. |

What about the "Age of Bismarck" board game from FoW Games? That DOES have him on the cover, but no big grey ships of any description. |
