I'm lucky I've gotten to know some of the fellas in the Harford Area Weekly Kriegspielers (HAWKs) game club in the past year. They're great guys to game with. Last night the ever-affable Eric Schlegel invited me up to play in his game set in an alternate Middle Earth, which used Buck Surdu's "Combat Patrol" WWII mechanics. The HAWKs are currently playtesting a fantasy version of the rules to release in the next six months or so, and last night's game was part of that process.

For more on last night's game and this great set of rules, check out my write-up at Scrum in Miniature:

Nice write up. One day I will get to try combat patrol. Maybe at the next convention.
