"All wings, report in! The next animated series set in the galaxy far, far away is just two months away: Lucasfilm and Disney have confirmed that Star Wars Resistance is taking flight October 7. And we've finally got our first look at the anime-inspired visuals of the next animated chapter in the Star Wars saga.

Confirmed by Lucasfilm and Disney today, Resistance, set in the years before the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will premiere on the Disney Channel at 10 pm EST on October 7. The series will air on Disney Channel, before also airing on Disney XD at a later date. The series, which revolves around the ace fighter pilots of Leia Organa's burgeoning Resistance, follows a young pilot named Kazuda Xiono (voiced by Days of Our Lives' Christopher Sean), recruited by the rebel group to conduct secretive spying missions on the growing reach of the villainous First Order. Why? Because Force Awakens was a barely tolerable re-boot of New Hope, and the incoherent mess of the Last Jedi screwed the whole franchise, which dragged down Solo at the box office -- so forwards into the past in an attempt to put the defibrillator paddles on Star Wars and jolt it back to life!!

"Help us, Dave Filoni, you're our only hope!"

Do they have to? Do they really have to?

And what scale will the miniatures be this time? Sooner or later, they're going to run out and repeat themselves, you know.

Wow – and it looks terrible. The style of CGI they used looks … like crap.

I agree that it looked bad. It looks like a kid's show which Rebels and the Clone Wars were not. Kids could watch them but they had more depth that adults appreciated.

I'm looking forward to the 12 Clone Wars episodes.

Terrible animation.

I found the Force Awakens to be rather intolerable.

Just another retread of the same story, over, and over, and over, and over, and……….

Haven't seen Last Jedi, but given reviews, looks like I was wise not to spend money on it at the theater.

It's not meant to be something you can relive your childhood through. It's for actual kids to live theirs.

I'll accept some of that premise. If you are talking about the animation I still question why it is way worse than any other animated series they have done.
