"Historically, all empires either fall or morph into some other empire… and then fall. We don't use the term "empire" to describe nation-states that much anymore. Regardless of what we call some countries, they are still able to project power outside their borders, being it globally (like the United States) or regionally (like Iran). But when it comes to having to defend their home turf, some countries are just not going to roll over for any reason…."

Maybe for a current power, but the Terran Overlord Government (TOG) with its 1,000,000 legions equipped with grav armor and vast star fleet could overcome any/all of these nations and not even bat an eye.
What would it be like to be invaded, from orbit, by a mere 2,000 legions riding in grav APCs and supported by grav tanks.
LOL!!! I miss Renegade Legion… |

The Third Imperium will be able to conquer Terra about 3,000 years from now. Why is India on the list? Britain conquered it 200 years ago and then gave it back to the Indians. |

I too miss Fasa's Renegade Legion games, in particular "Centurion" with all the cool grav tanks. But countries are peanuts. The Imperium of Man with its Space Marines and countless Astra Militarum legions brought entire star systems to heel, uh, I mean, to the light of the Emperor of Mankind. |

Renegade Legion (particularly Centurion) was one of the best combined-arms games of it's time. Too bad it's much higher detail than most people want to play these days. |

I still have the entire Renegade Legion set, maybe one day I'll find another fellow player :( |
