It's always a good day to play or read some Napoleonics.

We're celebrating the Emperor's Birthday, are you?

Ahem…methinks it is his 249th birthday anniversary.

Doesn't say a lot for your standards of proof reading.

Martian Root Canal15 Aug 2018 7:38 a.m. PST

LOL. The guy runs a celebration event, makes a simple error on a quick post, and gets blasted for proofreading. Wow.

Cooldude15 Aug 2018 7:53 a.m. PST

I'm not a 10mm guy but do think you guys are doing awesome stuff and a great job on promotions. Haters gonna hate. Keep up the great work.

WHOA ! ! !

Where did I (EVER) come across with any HATE?

The author made an error, he can't be contacted via PM, SO…

Therefore, I think I had to let him know, here, in public, instead of private, because other than jumping through further hoops, it was the only way to let the author know.

Damn, a simple error was pointed out, t'was all.

You can call off the guard dogs now. Cripes… frown

Wargamorium15 Aug 2018 8:29 a.m. PST

It is a national holiday here in Belgium and in France!

rmcaras Supporting Member of TMP15 Aug 2018 8:36 a.m. PST

Andrew,
I think his observation was in reference to the unnecessary gratuitous assertion about "proofreading".

Martian Root Canal15 Aug 2018 8:50 a.m. PST

Yes it was, rmcaras. I have no guard dogs to call off LOL.

Andrew Preziosi Supporting Member of TMP15 Aug 2018 8:58 a.m. PST

Grrr…Okay. Harrumph!

Wow! What an incredibly beautiful set up. This is why we war game with miniatures and not care board counters.

olicana15 Aug 2018 9:44 a.m. PST

Nothing quite so grand, but we're playing a Peninsular War encounter tonight. It's a kinda birthday here too, because this is the first time my Napoleonic collection will get a proper outing.

Napoleon! I'm not usually a fan of despots but, despite his many faults (including being no judge of character), he was the best of them.

He's in pretty good shape. Doesn't look a day over 175.

N0tt0N15 Aug 2018 11:11 a.m. PST

Wow! Spectacular figures, olicana!

alan L15 Aug 2018 11:44 a.m. PST

Vive l'Empereur!

redbanner414515 Aug 2018 2:43 p.m. PST

I'll celebrate tonight by painting some Austrian casualty figures.

Of all the dates Napoleon's birthday never registered, but then I don't have a French painted figure in the house, anyway
Happy birthday Emperor

Hmm. The OP was obviously seeking to promote a commercial enterprise. Where I come from, pointing out that a glaring error in a post on a public forum is unlikely to engender confidence in a publisher's products, is called telling the truth. You've never met me. Calling me a "hater" says more about you than me.

Martian Root Canal17 Aug 2018 7:01 p.m. PST

LOL. You've never met the publisher, but you're judging him on one post. Where I come from, that is called 'irony.'

Martian Root Canal17 Aug 2018 7:05 p.m. PST

And while we're at it, your original post said 'proof reading.' It's one word: proofreading.

AussieAndy Supporting Member of TMP18 Aug 2018 1:41 a.m. PST

And, unsurprisingly, given where you come from, you don't appear to understand the meaning(s) of the term "irony". I'm done, say what you like if it makes you happy.

Martian Root Canal18 Aug 2018 7:22 p.m. PST

Actually, I do understand the word. The irony comes from you judging a publisher on one post, then defending your position by attributing remarks to me that I never said based on one post. I did not use the word 'hater,' but then you state that it says something about me. Irony. QED.

And now you're judging me on 'where I come from.' LOL.

For the record, the OP did get the dates wrong. I will grant you that. After that, no points on the scoreboard for you.

TWC need to do emulate the Grand Corsican and do a Duke of Enghien on their marketing wizard.

I hate marketing – I have big feet (Euro 49) and those marketing people alwez put me in the outsize bracket.

Oh – almost forgot – @AP – you are right to call out the timing error. It isn't hating – it's correcting fake news.

The Wargaming Company30 Aug 2018 8:58 p.m. PST

It was simply a case of bumping the key next to the one intended and having no option to edit it as thread titles can't be changed once the submit button is hit which is of course, the moment you spot your typo at least it was the moment we spotted ours.
