I'm considering changing scales, from 1:3000 to 1:1800, because I like the visual impact and, as my main interest is RN/Kriegsmarine, I tend to have fewer toys on the table. Unfortunately I can't find two key RN types in 1:1800. Does anyone know of any company which manufactures either the Crown Colony class cruiser or the JKN class destroyer please? I can find pretty much everything else I need, including Polish warships. Many thanks, Nick |

The old Axis and Allies Naval collectable miniatures line by Wizards of the Coast included the HMAS Nizam destroyer as well as HMCS Uganda light cruiser, HMS Javelin destroyer and HMS Jamaica cruiser. They are 1:1800 scale and available on ebay. Also try shapeways as several people do 1:1800 to fill in that line of ships. Hope this helps, Tom D. |

The HMS Javelin (Base Set, Axis & Allies Miniatures) is a very poor model, defective stern. This is the Model reprinted as HMAS Nizam. It's the lack of an HMS Queen Elizabeth/Valiant model, and the absurd prices for HMS Warspite that puts me off the whole 1/1800 scene, and the game itself. Plus the problems with basic destroyer and carrier fighter availability. |
