I've been clearing some of my backlog of unbuilt/unpainted stuff in 10mm and ran across a large package of Type 99 Chinese PLA Tanks that I purchased off eBay. I haven't really checked in the last nine months, but does anyone produce infantry or vehicles to match up with these? |

Minifigs released a few vehicles earlier this tear, I asked if they intended to do infantry and they replied yes, but there is no timeline, |

Thanks for the heads up on the Minifigs stuff – I see a couple of vehicles I can make use of. I really don't get the releasing of older vehicles for PLA when they haven't had much involvement (I guess other than arms dealers) in conflicts. They should be releasing now or near future vehicles for "What If" type conflicts. |

If you have not already noticed, I have a few bits in the Aotrs Shipyards (Type 96G, ZBL-09, YW-531) out and the ZBD-03 is in the release queue). I haven't had a huge amount of call – three out of the four came out of commissions – which is why its a bit sporadic (and suitable references sources are a little harder to come by). The problem with now or near-future vehicles is probably the same as I have – there are no good reference sources. (I need, to even get started, a technical drawing of some sort, really needing at least side front and top, but both sides and rear are favourite, plus a variety of photos – ideally walkarounds.) The BMPT, for instance, had to wait for about three years after I first heard about it until I could find enough stuff to actually make a proper design. (Otherwise, I have a lot of scifi vehicles in 10mm, of which the sci-soviets – which include thus far a scifi version of the YW-531 – might be of passing interest. I have ideally considered stuff like the Type 99 myself (and a scifi version), but the last time I looked, there just wasn't enough information. Ditto when people ask me about the Armata – there just isn't enough reference material around yet.) |
