That is sad. First I thought the reggae band Black Uhuru. Something sad about them. So glad it is not. But sad news. JH |

Hope she gets better. Where is Dr. (Bones) McCoy? |

Sorry 377CSG, that's a long downwards slope with no up escalator. Happened with my father. Nothing but heartbreak for the family. |

It's happening to my mother-in-law. It's very difficult. At least Nichelle's is moderate, which is a bit of good news. |

Oh dear. That's sad. I loved Nichelle. |

It's a tough way to go all around. Too bad. I really enjoyed her work on Star Trek. |

I hope she has had an early diagnosis, which may allow the docs to start treatment with medications like Donepezil hydrochloride, galantamine or rivastigmine, which can successfully slow the progress of this awful condition. PS – the correct spelling of her ST character is UHURA. |

The meds do not actually slow the progress of the disease they help with the symptoms of memory loss. Not exactly the same thing. My mother in law had Alzheimers and she went very quickly, a couple of years though there were signs of it earlier. |

Thank you, Bill, for letting us know. Nichelle is my favorite actor from all of Star Trek. |

She was and is fantastic. She was at San Diego ComicCon, but I saw a poster that had two of her four appearances crossed off. Maybe connected. Best wishes, she gave us all a lot. |
