I got bitten by the Halo Fleet Battles bug after Spartan Games went belly up and all of the box sets were long pulled from the shelves. I was wondering the actual cost of some of the sets (In US dollars) as they were in the hobby shops? I was hoping some one here could tell me about these: UNSC Halcyon set UNSC Autumn set UNSC Halberd set Covenant APD escort ship set I was curious for I have even seen these on Ebay and have only seen Shapeways sculpts of these that seem over priced. I thank you for your help in advance. |

I have heard there is a new suitor for the license so they may be back next year…at inflated normal retail prices….this was an exeensive game in my opinion |

Greedy greedy greedy. Priced for failure at the outset. license it at a price where everyone can make a little money instead of squeezing it dry and dooming it to fail or don't license it at all. Everyone is hurt when something like this fails. The licensor, the licensee and the customers. |

I remember reading a piece, probably after Fleet Battles was released, but before Ground Commander dropped, that was describing the lacklustre performance of Halo licenses generally! Personally I didn't think prices where that bad and the miniatures okay – though I don't have any other ship miniatures to compare them with. I reckon there's pretty much zero chance of a Pillar of Autumn set for south of £100.00 GBP mark (what ever that is in dollars at the moment). If shapeways is too rich for you it may be worth waiting to see if a new version drops, though sod's law says it'll be new sculpts at a different scale! Conversion/scratch builds might be another option – personally I'd probably be a bit lairy of taking a modelling saw to OOP miniatures based on current ebay prices! |

A dead store page gives the Halberd set as GB£20 for 12 resin ships. A blog give the Autumn as GB£14 and the Covenant Carrack cruiser GB£18. |
