First off, Claire Danes is a horrible actress who overacts like she is showing Mom that the money she spent on acting lessons is paying off. Every scene shows her gurning and twisting her face into every emotion possible. It's almost frightening. Next. She is incompetent as hell. Does everything she touches turn to ? She ruins the lives of everyone she touches. She puts her daughter in danger at every opportunity. Did I leave anything out? |

Oh. And she specializes in getting little Muslim boys killed. Who she is supposed to be protecting. |

Winston: "Every scene shows her gurning and twisting her face into every emotion possible. It's almost frightening." My wife has watched the show at times and says that it's difficult to take the show seriously when she makes those elastic faces. It makes the show feel "like a Jim Carrey comedy". I however have not watched a single episode. But I can't stand the actress is her other works for similar reasons. I think she's gotta be on drugs or something, specially when she starts making faces like Klaus Kinski, Laura Dern or Carol Burnett. Dan

I watched the first three seasons, once Brody dies, it goes downhill and loses its focus. |

Nnascati: "once Brody dies, it goes downhill and loses its focus" What?!? Brody dies????? Just kidding. I have no intention of ever watching the show. Dan |

I liked the one in Pakistan. Found all the rest quite meh… It is hard to imagine that it is the same actress from Romeo + Juliet |

She acts like she's still angsty Angela in 'My So-Called Life.' It's the way she is. The facial expressionism doesn't bother me all that much though. If I can stand Jennifer Garner in 'Alias' and Piper Perabo in 'Covert Affairs' I can certainly bear Claire Danes. |

I thought the first three seasons were excellent, especially the first – very tense. Yeah, Claire Danes does get a bit annoying, but it seemed to me it got worse with each successive season. Other actors, like Mandy Patinkin, were great. I would recommend giving at least the first season a go. |

Remember, somewhere there's a director that's telling her to act like this… |

I thought she was great in Stardust. Not seen enough of Homeland, but those clips and stills were pretty scary. |

Bill: "Remember, somewhere there's a director that's telling her to act like this…" Or they are scared of her crazy faces and so they haven't found a good way or time to tell her to quit making them. :) Either way, she should have gotten the hint after the SNL piece. YouTube link Dan PS. In a few years, her face will be so stretched out from making those gestures that she'll end up looking a lot like Klaus Kinski. link

Yes you did, she's dynamite in the sack. |

I've no idea who she is but you've obviously got her seriously wrong because: "In 2012, TIME magazine named Danes one of the 100 most influential people in the world." Yep in the world I need to think about this. DBDD |

DBDD Lol. And TIME gets it right every time, right? :) Dan |

It must pay to make faces cus she's won two Primetime Emmys and a Golden Globe for her acting in Homeland. Just sayin' |

Homeland ? Never touch the stuff… |

Unless we are talking about silly comedies … I would prefer movies and shows that show panicked scenes sparingly and at the right time, instead of seeing every scene as an opportunity for their main actors to become facial contortionists. Dan |

Lol. Good one. And check this out. I don't know how the actress on the left was able to keep a straight face. Dan

Jeez, Dan. What movie is that? So I can avoid it! Is she crying because she just had all her lower teeth extracted? |

Was just re-binge watching Homeland last night. Carrie manages to get Sekou Bah's Plea bargain wiped out by doing her thing, and then he gets blowed up real good. Nice Muslim boys should not trust her. At all. Then reporters and journalists spark a riot at her townhouse where she left severely damaged PTSD Quinn baby sitting her cute adorable daughter. How the heck can anyone claim her as an example of an empowered woman on TV when everyone and everything she touches turns to ashes? I saw it before. I get to yell at Carrie overacting, and my son gets to holler at obnoxious reporters. We both had a good time last night. |

Ok. So I Googled "actors who overact", and got this. link And Lo! William Shatner's name led all the rest. |
15mm and 28mm Fanatik | 09 Aug 2018 5:19 p.m. PST |
No surprise. Shatner is still the king of overacting and likely won't give up the crown in his lifetime. |
