Never saw this scene before, nor read any comments referring to it.

Seems like a key piece of the story line that was cut out. Without it, we don't know that War Daddy had a death wish -- that he had gone to war wanting to die. The whole decision to stand and fight to the death at the crossroads at the end makes a little more sense.

Or not. Just a movie, after all.

Kind of makes you wonder if the editors thought character development was important or not.
Thanks for the find.

I'm glad they cut that scene. It actually makes the whole story too trite, and the mystical "I see things" garbage doesn't belong.

Except for the all-night last stand of a disabled tank with no infantry support and the tank battle with insufficient maneuver, I thought it was a really good war story.

If you watch it with the sound off, you notice how the background changes radically between the camera cutting from one actor to the other. Maybe the director and editor noticed how bad it looked?

Somehow I have seen this scene. Hmm.

(The backgrounds/lighting not matching is a fairly standard thing to clean up these days. Pretty easy too!)

Always foiund the movie to be hard to believe even if a movie One of the scenes show a large number of Germans marching down the road and I am sure that I saw a number carrying Panzerfausts. A key plot point is that the Germans have to asault the tank as they don't have anti tank weapons ?

Just circle around and come at the tank from behind. That scene at the end was pretty dumb. Not a big fan of the movie overall. There were a couple of good tank fights early on though.

I am sure that I saw a number carrying Panzerfausts.

They did. I looked.

I really wanted to like that movie. Really. I'm all for artistic license, and I am the last history buff to get all uppity about this sort of thing, but a company of Krauts vs. a disabled tank is a bit much.

It was a decent try at life of the tanker but a couple of over the top scenes spoiled much of the effect. Final scence esp.

Man, those Shermans are quite.

If you tried to have a conversation like that on an Abrams without a CVC helmet then the scene would be like this.

New Kid (yelling at the top of his lungs)- HOW DID YOU GET SO BURNED UP!?!

Wardaddy (yelling back at the top of his lungs)- WHAT!?!

New Kid (still yelling at the top of his lungs)- I SAID, HOW DID YOU GET SO BURNED UP!?!

Wardaddy (looking confused and yelling back at the top of his lungs)- HOW DID I GET WHAT!?!

New Kid (screaming)- BURNED UP!!!!!!!

Wardaddy (annoyed)- SCREW IT CHERRY! GET YOUR CVC BACK ON!!!!
