Would the following idea work for those of you who are looking for rubberized "horse hair" (actually rubberized coconut fiber, coir)? 1) Buy a cheap coconut fiber liner from a plant nursery department; 2) Tease apart the fibers to leave gaps; 3) Lay the material on parchment/baking paper; and then 4) Lightly mist with one of these Plasti Dip spray rubber products, fold, lightly spray again, and then trim and use as needed? auction link Would that work for what you guys are needing? It would rubberized the fibers and act as a primer (black or brown) all at the same time, right? Dan PS. Just make sure to call it the "CC" (Cacique Caribe) technique. :)

"Coir" is coconut fiber. I spent years cutting and sewing it into custom car mats. What a filthy job that was. |

Unless I'm seriously mistaken, the articles I've read (and videos*) say that today's rubberized "horse hair" is really a rubberized form of coconut fiber (coir). Or would this other material work as a substitute for what you need? link Dan * Such as this one, by Terrain Tutor: YouTube link |

Why does coir need rubberising? What can you do with rubberised that you can't do with the original? I'm asking out of ignorance by the way,I dont know! |

Might be easier to spray the end of the horse's tail, and then trim off! |

Is this the stuff you guys seek then? link link Dan |

I have tried…but the horse resents being put in the liquid rubber. |

Lol. Good one! Dan PS. This fibrous product is also described as held together by rubber: auction |

I think I tried that and it worked fine. Doesn't look the same as rubberised horse hair but was a reasonable facsimile. |
