Massive charge of Tzar Peter the Great's Russian dragoons and infantry against the Swedes:

The troops looked a lot like classic Spencer Smiths except they moved by themselves.

I'd of loved it 60 or so years ago but I was only 10 then.

The Swedish infantry has a mix of, a couple of muskets, lots of bolt-action rifles(both military and hunting) some Martini-Henry Carbines And of course everyone knows of the mighty Swedish double barrel shotgun developed during the GNW.

And it's the Swedes that charge the Russians.

While I loved it, what really got my attention was how difficult it was to distinguish between dark blue and dark green jackets. To my aged eyes, they both seem more black.

I'm coming more and more to the view that these dark jackets should simply be painted black and a highlight color to hint at blue or green as the official color.

I have it on VHS. Fun to watch.

Good old exploding cannon balls again…

The Swedes have artillery, but do not seem to use if before the charge. Besides the mix of rifles pointed out by Gunfreak, none have bayonets, and no Swedish pikes are shown, I think they had them.
