"West Wind separate heads system compatibility with Warlord" Topic

Says it. How do West Winds WW2 separate heads compare in size to Warlord's figures? I'm looking at converting the Warlord Winter Soviets to Winter War era. I've got a load of Budyonovka helmets via Shapeways and am looking at sources of bare heads to match them all up.

I ordered German heads and they were too big by a wide margin.

Not well. The Westwind heads are noticably bigger then the Warlord ones, at least the ones I have seen. What is wrong with Warlords own bare heads they do some in the German range.

I have the warlord British sprues. All of the heads have no helmets on them.

I counted and there are 8 heads to a sprue. I went down and pulled the box and got a visual on it. Now here is the deal that sprue is like $8 USD separate from warlord.

How many heads do you need? I had help from a TMPer for schurzen and need to pay this forward.

Thanks for the responses. I knew I'd seen bare heads in some of the Warlord plastics, I'd forgotten the British. Thanks for the offer Bravo, but I actually have a box of Brits lurking in the pile, so I should be ok after all.

Cool. Well if I steered you to the heads you will use on this project then you have to share pictures of the completed guys.

This is an interesting uniform you are going for so the outcome is of interest to me.

Will do. Checked my Brits this am and the box gives me 15 spare heads which is a good start. I'll do the 1st ones to see how they go. Based on the Skirmish Campaign's scenario book I'm going to need up to 100 figures, so a way to go at the moment before any major battles, but another box will be enough to play out some of the smaller games.
