Were the US Army Amphib. tank battalions used for Okinawa? Basically these would have been equipped with the LVT(A)4 (75mm How) and LVT(A)1 (37mm AT).

This is the Army and Marine order of battle for Okinawa;

Two Army Bns, 708th and 776th

Also the 1st and 3rd Marine Armd Amph Bns.

I'm reasonably sure by this time the bulk, if not all, the tractors, were 75-mm howitzer models. There are reports for more than a couple of the amphibian tank and tractor units online.

According to Stanton's World War II Order of Battle, the 708th, 776th, and 780th battalions were at Okinawa, while the 773rd operated on the off-shore islands.

The 747th was in the ETO, and the 742nd and 795th never left Ft. Ord.

Yes, that's what I get for doing a quick page search for Amph Tank, while 780th is down as Amph Tk…

This was a link on the 776th with some detail on its activities and equipment changes
