Looking to augment my Sharp's Practice peninsular French line with some dynamic poses.

You might consider Old Glory:

Leger, 1806-1815 link

Infantry, 1809, several packs of elite companies link

Although I don't have any of their Napoleonic figures, I do have figures from several of their other lines and have been very satisfied with them.

Try Perry Miniatures. They have voltigeurs for pre- and post- 1812.

Here's some of my Old Glory figs (some Advancing and some Skirmishing):

Much more here: link

If I were to start again, I think I'd still do Old Glory and fold in the Brigade Games stuff: link

It's a tough one but Perry, Perry, Perry. And then maybe get some Perry figs.

Oh, and then there's Perry Miniatures.

HaT makes an action set of French Legere in 28mm. Not bad figures. Downsized from 54mm.

Vicxtrix. Lovely poses and details

Wait..did someone mention Perry? grin For some variation, you can do what I do and mix in a squad of Murawski Polish skirmishers in campaign dress to your force.

What I love is that a manufacturer bothers to contribute to this forum. Thanks to the Guys from over the pond.

and just think again about our postage costs, over here, for what are superb figures. Yes, I know this Brexit insanity is yet to come, but why cannot Brig G Mins not negotiate an EU distributor right now?

Trust me, their figures are really good (with one or two serious reservations )

Agree with "deadhead".

Brigade are really great but wish they were available in Europe.

Cheers,

Paul

Come on Brigade Games, you do read these messages. Why not then?

There is a big market over here. The population of the EU does compare well with that of USA. OK, Brexit is a-coming, but a European franchise is well worth considering. Postage costs are transformed.

There was some availability of non Napoleonic stuff through North star I seem to recall.

Perry. Perry. Perry.

Of course. Over 95% of all my collection.

They cannot be beaten for the range and diversity of figures and poses. We can get Scandinavian Guard Marines and Bavarian ambulance corps or Portuguese Napoleonic Airborne (well maybe not yet, but surely, in time)……

The only snag is…and I wonder is it getting worse….is the work you have to put in before you can start to undercoat. Metallic flash is increasing (especially between horses' legs), mould lines need much filing, risking loss of detail. But, above all, the pins. We know where to look now (tips of toes, cartouche edges, tips of sabres, stirrups etc etc etc. The snag is there is always one or two you miss and find as you are painting.)

This side of the Atlantic, there are none better for quality and price I feel. Front Rank are getting better anatomically, though, and the castings are incredible. Calpe are, possibly, best of all but a limited range. There is many a small range appearing also! Three Armies, Black Hussar (ex Westfalia), Gringos40 are Champions League stuff, but again small ranges right now.

We are blessed in 28mm. How I wish AB worked in our scale…

I have always liked Legere Voltigeurs in the colpack (my first were, Hinton Hunt from the early 1970s) and Front Rank makes some nice ones with several nice poses — they are a bit large but I happily use them next to my Perry but keep them in separate groups. I would probably get more if they released them as part of the new Reinforcement Packs range…

Q – Why not a UK/European distributor?

I have been quite upfront about this in past posts. I could not handle the casting myself to meet orders as I was barely doing it as is. I do have a daytime job so my casting is confined to the weekends. Yes, I had been casting my ranges myself since TLWR blew up many years ago and I had to take on the work myself as well as buy the equipment to do so.

Three years ago this upcoming WInter I started down the path to move most if not all BG items to contract casting. This has entailed making brand new production molds for all codes, clearly not an inexpensive or short-term undertaking. The caster/moldmaker only wanted responsibility for molds they knew would work and produce superior castings from the start. Every new code released the past 32 months has been contract cast. This also required the codes that had already been released to have master metals spun up and new production molds made.

Everything in the BrigadeGames Readi-ship section is contract cast. Unless there is a heavy run on items here I generally have good stock on hand, hence "Readi-ship."

It is safe for me to say that I am down to about 20 codes remaining to be transferred to the contractor in the Napoleonics/1812 ranges.

Everyone will notice that due to what has been in the master molds and other codes that are more popular or were a pain in the bum to cast, there are many other codes in our ranges that are already contract cast.

So, yes my intent to to get product over to the UK/EU. I have spoken with Nick at NorthStar. With Brexit coming, I will probably need to reach out to some potential EU based companies. He has brought in some ranges in the past, but it was my workload that hindered a more regular offering. It will however, take time to bring in the ranges as the BG range is quite large. As our Napoleonics/1812 is pretty close to ready these are the first two which would make sense. Our Western is close, and our King Philips War, Spies and Patriots, and Post-Apocalypse ranges are totally ready.

I hope this helps to explain the situation.
