I ran a Mesopotamia WW1 game at Historicon 2018 using Command Decision 4 (TOB) rules.

Here's a link to the AAR.

Nice job! Thanks for sharing.

Excellent kit, scenario and game. Would have loved to have been there!

It was a great game. I played on the Turkish side and although we were destroyed with relative ease, it was a fun game to play in. I left after my command was essentially destroyed but I had a good time with some great guys.

Good point, Lascaris. The way for the Turks to "win" was to not lose as badly as they did historically. Since the Allies did not manage to sever the Turks' line of communications, the Turks accomplished this result.

And the players were a great bunch of guys, weren't they? Fun to GM for.

The players were fabulous. I enjoyed all the players at games I played in over Historicon but the group for the Qurna game was probably the most fun.

The GM should get the credit for putting on a good game – JAS

Thanks, Jessee. Putting on a good game was part of it. But I have put on good games and almost no one showed up, so I'm glad when such a good crew does appear -- and has a great time to boot!

And I'll reiterate what I said at the end of the AAR:
"A big thanks to the guys at Marc's house who play-tested and gave much good advice which I incorporated, especially regarding the victory conditions.

"Another useful critique, about the difficulty of identifying companies and infantry command stands, resulted in my flocking each company with a different type of covering, as well as putting a small black rock at the back of each infantry command stand. It must have worked, as no one voiced that complaint at Historicon."
