Hello all,

Just a quick note to announce that the second full episode of Little Wars TV has been released on our YouTube Channel! You can find it here: Episode 2

In this episode, Little Wars TV's Keith and I discuss the portrayal in HBO's mini-series "Band of Brothers" of the 101st Airborne's attack on Foy in January of 1945. Then (because it's what we do) we re-fight the battle on the table-top, this time using 28mm miniatures and the ruleset "Chain of Command" from TooFatLardies.

Take a look, let us know what you think, and hit subscribe if you like what we're doing!

Yep, I enjoyed it! I just realized after watching this that the Iron Ivan folks are part of this. I should have guessed after seeing the name Chal.

Thanks.

Uh oh…is that a good thing or a bad thing John Leahy? :D

Chalfant27 Jul 2018 11:53 a.m. PST

Yeh, there are not that many of us Chals around. For better or for worse. Both Keith and I are part of this club, and you will see one or both of us in many episodes.

We brought Chal and Keith in as eye candy, but they turned out to be such prima donnas I'm beginning to wonder if it was worth it. You should see what they demanded for their trailers!

Chalfant27 Jul 2018 12:35 p.m. PST

I think I had free coffee on two episodes. Yeh, I'm probably not worth that price.

You got free coffee? I need to talk to my agent…

Oh, it's a very good thing! I have enjoyed their previous videos and am an Iron Ivan fan too. Combine that with liking Altar of Freedom by Greg and you have a great bunch of guys!

thumbs up

Thanks

John

For clarity, I am no longer actively involved with Iron Ivan (its currently sold by Sinister Laboratories), but Keith still is.

I am glad to have authored or co-authored many of the IIG books in the past, and I still game DH when I can (in particular, SOCWAD)…. so its always nice to hear from someone who enjoys those games, thanks :)

Thank you for the kind words John. We appreciate that. I've had the privilege of being a part of Iron Ivan with Chal and being a member of a great gaming group of some of the finest people I know.

It's been a hell of a good time making and sharing these videos with you guys. Glad you're enjoying them.

More to come!

The video was great and the game was really nice. I learned something, I did not know that Dike was a bronze star winner. His family should have sued to clear his name.

Pizzagrenadier29 Jul 2018 9:48 a.m. PST

Two Bronze Stars! I'm surprised his family didn't speak up either. I imagine it would have been difficult though going up against the combination of Winters, Ambrose and the rest of the Easy legacy.

And therein lies the problem. I think Winters simply disliked Dyke. I think part of it is that Dyke wasn't from Easy. Some of it might have just been personal too. I think at least some of it is that Taccoa men didn't easily accept outsiders into the company unless they demonstrated qualities like Spiers. We'll probably never know.

It really sucks for Dyke and his family. Dyke was unfairly maligned, but counteracting that risks going up against the Easy legacy built by people like Ambrose and Winters.

Crap… my phone corrected Dike to Dyke. Sorry about the misspelling.
