Wonderful painting. Wow. I apologize if this has been asked before, but is there a painting tutorial to accompany this? I love the lighter blue than the darker stuff (I use Humbrol Matt Oxford Blue 104, for its purplish tone), which makes them pop and I suspect gives a different look from, say, Prussians, and also the shading etc. on the white – which for me is the absolute hardest thing to paint. Any advice would be appreciated. Your work is just stunning. Bravo zulu, sir! |

Many thanks for sharing. I shall have to experiment a bit, and already have some of those Vallejo colours. Outstanding work on all counts! |

Dear Alex, With apologies for the followup questions, but having just checked the paint charts, your Vallejo whites are all actually greys (Cold, Stonewall and Ghost). Do you use white as a highlight? Or is what I am seeing purely the result of grey-on-grey-on-grey, in progressively lighter shades? Either way, the result is brilliant. Also, is there a similar tri-colour scheme for Napoleonic Prussians that you use and would recommend? Thanks again. Have a great day. |

Dear Fred, I am very pleased to be of service to you. Yes that's right. I use this triad as white, brightening from dark to light. No use white here. The real white looks too tough and lifeless. I use it sometimes for small details that need to be brighter. For Prussians, the dark blue that I described is suitable. Gray for the pants – 70.866, 70.992, 70.990 (all model color) I very recomendat this triads link |
