According to a very reliable source from the Johnny Reb Group over on yahoo Dean lost his battle with cancer around 2:30 yesterday afternoon, July 23, 2018. Dean was the guy behind John Hill's "Johnny Reb" rules, ran many JR games at various conventions across the country, and authored his own variation of the JR system titled "Argument of Kings". (Think I have that title correct!) He was well known among the ACW community, and along with John will be sorely missed by many! A great guy who was always willing and able to assist anyone who had questions about anything and everything having to do with the American Civil War, as well as other periods. |

The Final Argument of Kings. Dean was also quite active in the Seven Years War Association as one of the original members and as the convention director for a number of years. |

I had the chance to game with him quite a few times at several "Johnnie Cons" – small shows focused solely on Johnny Reb. A real gentleman. |

Dean was a great friend, historian, and all around great guy! I knew him from Johnny Con, FAK, and Nashcon! If you needed to know something about the ACW, SYW or life in general he was the guy to ask! He will be sorely missed. RIP Dean. Cory R. |
