I'm about to place an order with Old Glory and was thinking I would include a bag of tunic wearing slingers for use as Roman civilians to make mobs for Gangs of Rome. Unfortunately the photos on both sites claiming to be Old Glory are not really helping. Anybody have experience with the ranges know which set would be easiest to use? I'm hoping for a variety of poses and easily swapped out weapons.

Not 25mm but the linear B fellas have some nice stuff--in 1/72.

If you are looking at Old Glory, then take a look at the Spartacus figures. Sorry that I can't help you with photos, though!

The Roman asks the young lady "are you free on Saturday?"
She replies, "I'm a lupa, so I may be available, but I'm never free"

Warlord Games makes some civilian sets. You can use Greeks as well – fashions where not ALL that different and people did travel to Rome.

Did you want your figures to be armed or without any weapons?

I need multiple bases of civilian mobs with five figures per base. I was just thinking I could bulk out several bases cheaply. I need just ordinary citizens without weapons or armor. Tunics or togas, I'm not that picky. I just want to pick up a bunch of them cheaply. The Gangs of Rome figures are awesome sculpts, but the civilian mobs are not where I want to spend my money.

I have 4 units of 24 unpainted armed Roman Civilians by Wargames Foundry that I could sell. They were part of a Spartacus game that never happened. I also should be able to come up with a bunch of unarmed Roman Civilians as well

$30 USD per unit of 24
