I know that Jalkaväkirykmentti (infantry regiment) is abbreviated as JR.
But what is jääkärirykmentti (Jager regiment) abbreviated as?

They can't both be JR.

Can you elaborate which Jääkärirykmentti are you referring to?

I haven't reasearched any but I'm under the assumption that there was NO jääkärirykmentti at all.

However, panssaridivisioona (formed in June 1942) consisted of panssariprikaati and 1. jääkäriprikaati.

1. jääkäriprikaati consisted of:
-Jääkäripataljoona 2
-Jääkäripataljoona 3
-Jääkäripataljoona 4
-Panssarijääkäripataljoona

In addition to the jääkäripataljoonas of jääkäriprikati there also was jääkäripataljoona 1

So, AFAIK; no jääkärirykmenttis and no problem you describe.

Jääkäripataljoona = JP.
